ADVANTiX Film: Advanced Photo System

Advanced Photo System is a type of film format, which is used in still photography. ADVANTiX Film is promoted by Eastman Kodak, which is developed by APS (Advanced Photo System) technology. This ADVANTiX film has three types of film formats:

• “H” type of film format, which is used for “High Definition”. The aspect ratio is 16:9. Size is 30.2 x 16.7 mm and 4x7” print.

• “C” type of film format, which is used for “Classic”. The aspect ratio is 3:2; size is 25.1 x 16.7 mm and 4x6” print.

• “P” type of film format, which is used for “Panoramic”. The aspect ratio is 3:1; size is 30.2 x 9.5 mm and 4x12” print.

In general, the “P” and “C” film formats are created by cropping. The full picture is recorded on the negative. If the picture is recorded in one aspect ratio then we can print that in other format. The 135 film aspect ratio and the “C” format aspect ratios are same. Most of the cameras that use ADVANTiX films, can record these three formats. The format is printed on the film in series squares.
