New Service Announcement

Britepix is pleased to announce the introduction as of January 2006 of three new services: Medium Format Film (110/220) scanning, APS Film scanning, and Instamatic 110 film scanning.

As with 35mm film scanning, the medium format, APS film, and 110 film scanning will be performed with professional-grade Nikon 5000ED and 9000ED film scanners, which combined with Kodak's Digital ICE technology for dust and scratches removal, create high resolution digital images of unmatched quality.

Medium Format Film (110/220)

The Medium Format film is routinely used by photo enthusiasts and professional photographers. Our scanning service will support the following medium formats, with a choice of 3 standard scanning resolutions (800 dpi, 1500 dpi, and 3000 dpi):

6 x 4.5 Also called 645. Actual image size: 56 x 42 mm
6 x 6 Also called 2-1/4 x 2-1/4". Actual image size: 56 x 56 mm

APS Film Scanning

APS, or Amateur Photo System, was developed by Kodak, Fuji and Noritsu in the early 1990's. Today it is largely discontinued or in the process to be discountinued. It is also known as Advantix, Nexia, Nuvis, Pronea, or Vectis, depending on the manufacturer.

Our scanning service supports developed APS rolls (cartridges) of 15, 25, or 40 frames, at 1500, 3000, and 4000 dpi standard scanning resolution.

110 Instamatic Film Scanning

The 110 Instamatic cartridge film roll was introduced by Kodak in 1972 to be used with their popular Pocket Instamatic cameras, soon to be followed by other manufacturers. The actual 110 frame size is 13 x 17 mm.

Three standard scanning resolutions (1500 dpi, 3000dpi, and 4000 dpi) will be offered to our customers, with the same pricing schedule as 35mm film scanning.
